I’d love to put my vagina away. Unfortunately by doing so I’d nullify the only derogatory comment you or Hannah seem to be capable of forming. Ba-zing.

Anyway, the “exercise” bit is actually solid advice. Though I tend to fall in and out of the habit, I actually try to free-write for about an hour each day. I don’t commonly post the results - they’re usually just fragmented ideas, narration, and dialog - but when I generate something of significance, I try to post it. (Note that the lack of such posts represents of the amount of significant content I feel I’ve generated.)

Truth be told, SaidtheFox was comfortably simmering on my cognitive back-burner for the past few months - I expect to post more frequently now that I’ve reassessed my priorities.

Thanks for the comment though. I’ll keep with the keeping on.

hows about you put your vagina away? lol. in the interest of not becoming one of those temperamental-manic-genius-type writers, you should probably practice writing as an exercise. as in something you do regularly to get better at it, not just when you are monumentally inspired. psht! keep on keepin’ on, fool.

In an IE6 window, the first three characters or so of each line of your title quote is clipped off the left side of the page.
Not sure why, but this isn’t even my computer.. maybe it looks fine in Firefox.

Good re-write, indeed. Your use of language is impressive, as always (I do read, I just don’t always post. But you asked so nicely).

I have to admit, though, I like the original better. I like the grit. Don’t get me wrong, this one is great, but the other was just as rough as its subject. It fit.

josh! this re-write is good! ‘- a blizzard - and he was lost in it’ really stuck- i like that phrasing a lot. also, dude, you have the wrong “damn” in there about the river of blood, unless you’re being clever, in which case you may feel free to call me a philistine and laugh. lol
